MC2 and its members support the University of Tennessee Knoxville’s efforts in the Spaceport America Cup, providing launch facilities, expertise, and components. Their Rocket Engineering Team in turn supports MC2 outreach efforts such as the October Sky Festival and youth build-n-flies. Additionally, student and alumni are MC2 members serving in leadership positions. The Rocket Engineering Team is accomplished, having won the 30K SRAD Hybrid/Liquid category at Spaceport America Cup in 2022. Hybrid flights are regularly flown at MC2’s high power site in Hopkinsville Kentucky.
